SmartTAB does not collect, transmit or store any of your data.

There is no server, no account and no analytics.

Everything stays on your computer.

What SmartTAB can see

To do its job, SmartTAB reads the title, address and icon of your open tabs, and when each was last used. That is what the "Read your browsing history" warning at install refers to.

It never reads the content of any page.

SmartTAB requests no access to any website. It has no content scripts and no host permissions, which means it has no technical ability to see what is on your screen, what you type, or what a page contains.

Where your data is kept

All of it on your own device, in your browser's local storage:

your Locker — the tabs you closed on purpose

Rewind moments — periodic pictures of your open tabs

workspaces, reminders and automation rules

activity history used to group tabs by time

your settings

None of this is ever sent anywhere. There is nowhere for it to be sent: SmartTAB has no backend.

Bookmarks

If you use the Bookmarks section, SmartTAB asks for permission to read your bookmarks at that moment — never at install. If you never open that section, the permission is never requested.

Checking whether a bookmark still works means contacting that website to see if it answers. Nothing is read from the response and nothing about you is sent. If you would rather not contact those sites, do not run the check.

Your data leaving your computer

Only ever when you choose it:

you export a backup file, which you then control

you restore a tab, and your browser loads that page as it normally would

you run the bookmark check described above

Payment

SmartTAB Pro is unlocked with a licence key you paste into the extension. The key is checked on your device: the extension makes no network request to validate it and does not contact us or anyone else. Purchasing happens entirely on our website, outside the extension. Payment is handled there by a third-party payment processor, which receives your payment details and email address under its own privacy policy. The extension is never involved in that transaction and never sees, stores or transmits any of it. Users on the free plan provide nothing at all.

Third parties

Apart from Stripe for payment, none. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no trackers, no third-party scripts of any kind.

If you uninstall

Chrome deletes everything SmartTAB stored, including your Locker. Nothing remains anywhere else, because nothing was ever anywhere else. Export a backup first if you want to keep it.

Children

SmartTAB is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects how data is handled will also be announced in the extension.
